Frequently Asked Questions

Ideal Placement & Setup

What are the best surfaces for positioning my Softub® Spa?
At Simply Spas & Leisure, we make setup easy. Your Softub® Spa can be safely placed on many stable, level surfaces such as concrete, tile, wood decks, brick, or even compact sand. We recommend choosing an area that is free of sharp objects or debris to help protect the spa’s base and maintain clean water. Be sure to follow local safety regulations, including childproof barrier requirements when applicable.

For added style and comfort, many of our customers enhance their spa area with gazebos, spa enclosures, or decks. If placing your Softub® on a structure or elevated surface, always confirm it can support the full weight of the filled spa. To improve energy efficiency and protect your investment, we strongly recommend using a protective cover. Simply Spas & Leisure carries cover options designed specifically for Softub®.

Is extensive preparation required for my Softub® Spa’s installation?
Unlike traditional hard-shell hot tubs that often require construction, excavation, or poured concrete pads, Softub® Spas are designed for simple, stress-free setup. All you need is a level surface, indoors or outdoors. These spas plug into a standard 15-amp, 115-volt household outlet, so no special electrical work is usually required. It’s convenience without compromise.

Can I use my Softub® Spa outdoors during winter?
Yes — Softub® Spas are built to perform even in freezing temperatures. Keep snow cleared from the spa and motor area and maintain continuous power to ensure optimal performance. Many of our customers love enjoying their Softub® during crisp winter evenings, creating peaceful, spa-like moments even in cold weather.

Accessories & Seating Comfort

Do Softub® Spas have built-in seating?
Softub® Spas are thoughtfully designed with barrier-free seating, giving you complete freedom to stretch out and relax in any position. Our 300 model and Portico™ models include a built-in Therapy Seat and Therapy Station™ bench, designed to enhance comfort and hydrotherapy. For additional seating options, color-matched booster seats are available through Simply Spas & Leisure.

Caring for Your Softub® Spa Exterior

What material is used for the exterior, and how should it be cared for?
The Softub® exterior, including the lid and motor unit, is crafted from high-quality LeatherTex® or SynTex® marine-grade vinyl. This durable material resists mildew, cracking, and fading. To keep it looking its best, gently clean the surface using mild soap and water, then rinse thoroughly. Avoid abrasive tools, harsh cleaners, or solvents, as these can damage the material and may affect warranty coverage.

Can I use vinyl protectants on my Softub® Spa?
We do not recommend standard vinyl protectants found in auto supply stores, as they can accelerate the aging process of the vinyl. The only manufacturer-approved product is Aerospace 303 Protectant, which is available through Simply Spas & Leisure.

What protective measures are recommended for outdoor use?
If your Softub® is located outdoors, we strongly suggest using a Softub® Protective Cover. This helps block harmful UV rays, keeps rainwater out, and protects against dirt and debris. Dark-colored spas in direct sunlight benefit especially from this added layer of protection. We do not recommend using transparent plastic coverings, as they can trap heat and cause damage.

What should I do if the exterior of my Softub® Spa is damaged?
If you notice a tear or puncture, contact Simply Spas & Leisure right away. Our experienced service team can guide you through the next steps and arrange assistance if needed.

Is there a repair kit available for exterior damage?
Yes. If you need a vinyl patch kit, Simply Spas & Leisure can help you obtain the correct repair materials to keep your spa looking and performing its best.

Temperature Control & System Operation

How do I adjust the temperature on my Softub® Spa?
The Softub® HydroMate® system is designed to be simple and user-friendly. To adjust the temperature, press the up or down arrows to view your current setting and easily raise or lower the water to your preferred comfort level. The built-in thermostat works around the clock to maintain your chosen temperature.

What does the “P” on the digital display mean?
If you see a “P” on your display, it indicates a brief pause while the system accurately reads the water temperature. This ensures the temperature displayed is precise and reliable.

What should I do if my Softub® Spa isn’t heating properly?
First, make sure your spa cover is secured tightly and that air controls are fully closed to help retain heat. After a refill, heating can take up to 48 hours to reach full temperature. If problems continue, our local Simply Spas & Leisure service team is always here to help.

What temperature range can my Softub® maintain?
With SmartChip™ technology, Softub® Spas consistently maintain water temperatures between 60°F and 104°F. Adjustments are quick and easy using the arrows on the digital control panel.
